Our first challenge was to make contact with landowners' who would allow Forest Knights and their clients to use the land. Having made contact with a number potential partners, we had to make them understand why Forest Knights wanted to use the land. This was harder than expected. Trying to communicate what they do to people who already have a rural lifestyle is difficult. A lot of what we call bushcraft is their day to day life. People were surprised that we would want to sleep in the forest and live without modern conveniences.
After a few false starts we found
We had extensive discussions with representatives of APPP by phone and email to explain what Forest Knights needed from them and what they could expect from Forest Knights which culminated in a trip to Timisoara and then a drive of a couple hours to Densus in the Tara Hategului for face to face discussions. APPP took us to the area they proposed for the base camp. We were were all keen that there were no misunderstandings and it was crucial to have a native Romanian speaker to communicate with them. The discussions went well. Forest Knights and APPP are both passionate about preserving the natural environment and this provided a common ground despite the language gap.
We took lots of photographs and, after discussions Forest Knights decided that the area was almost perfect.
The next task was to put our discussions into writing. We decided the best format was a Memorandum of Understanding. We put together the outcomes of the work we had done in both Romanian and English. After one revision the agreement was signed.
We are pleased to have been involved in this project and look forward to helping Forest Knights and APPP to make their partnership a success.

Canada. They were looking for new and exciting venues for their courses and Romania seemed ideal. Their criteria were
that the area should be remote with a wide variety of wildlife.

We'll call them APPP for short.
They are an association of landowners who are dedicated to protecting and promoting the natural environment in their area.
They are also part of the Rewilding Europe:Life Bison project and
are re-wilding a herd of 19
bison
in the area.

Prima provocare pentru noi a fost găsirea unor propietari de terenuri forestiere dispusi sa ofere o mica parte din propietatea lor în scopul organizarii acestor cursuri de către Forest Knights. Acest lucru s-a dovedit extrem de dificil deoarece cea ce se învața în expeditiile bushcraft, pentru unii oamenii sunt lucruri care fac parte din stilul lor de viața cotidian, aceștia coabitand cu natura într-un echilibru perfect.
Oamenii au fost surprinsi când Forest Knights și-au exprimat dorința de a dormi sub cerul liber având ca sursa de lumină, bolta de stele.
După multe incercari ne-am întâlnit cu reprezentantii
După discutiile in care Forest Knights au explicat în detaliu în ce consta aceste cursuri via email și telefon, a urmat o întâlnire intre partea engleza și cea romana în țara Hategului mai exact în Densus. Din micul catun am urcat chiar la locul propus de partea romana pentru tabara. Participarea noastră la acesta întâlnire cu vorbitorilor nativi de limba romana cât și de limba engleza a fost cruciala, realizandu-se o comunicare fluida, naturala, inteleasa din toate punctele de vedere de ambele părți.
Astfel Forest Knights și A.P.P.P Demsus au descoperit pasiunea lor comuna de protejare a mediului inconjurator.
Echipa noastră o fost încântată sa participe la acest proiect și speram ca parteneriatul Forest Knights și A.P.P.P Demsus sa continue și în viitor cu succes.

(Asociatia propietarilor de păduri și pasuni Demsus Hunedoara).
Aceastia sunt o asociatie de propietari de păduri și pasuni care au ca scop principal
ocrotirea mediul inconjurator, pastrarea și dezvoltarea padurilor, precum și dezvoltarea
și diversificarea faunei existente (repopularea padurilor transilvanene cu

fără a folosi sau a apela la mijloacele oferite de epoca moderna sau de tehnologie
Denumirea acesta a fost popularizata în emisfera sudica de către Les Hiddins, în cea nordica de către
Mors Kochanski.
Recent prin intermediul programelor TV , Ray Mears a dobândit o popularitate consistenta prin demonstratiile de bushcraft făcute în fata camerelor de filmat. Practic bushcraft înseamnă să ne întoarcem la radacini, cu fata la natura, sa coabitam împreuna pastrand echilibru natural și respectand mediul inconjurator. Iată o lista de actitvitati ce fac obiectul cursurilor de bushcraft: obținerea și întreținerea focului urmărirea și vânarea animalelor, uzul obiectelor tăioase ca toporul și cuțitul, colectarea plantelor comestbile necultivate, sculptarea lemnului cu unelte simple (cuțit, topor, cuțit curbat)construcția de recipiente din materiale naturale, și multe altele.
